It is beautiful to find gratitude from the material. Lately, I am also processing living through the spiritual. A few years back, I wrote a poem describing winter as internal. In the chills of the season, pastures of insight root through the barren earth. Sharing a gathering of these awarenesses, centering presence via within.
Reclaiming space when others try to take. Silent cries. Rarity, because the work done contains depth. Depth as power, power as love. Opportunities for perspective to shift. Fear versus intimacy. Liminal states of not knowing. Reviews of past teachings.
The choice between avoidance and intimacy. Anger as a catalyst, not a weapon. Wonders of people wanting to know truth. Truth as a subjective orientation. A displeased colleague, and a pivot towards self-respect. Lost minds, collective hearts.
Feline snuggles, while snuggling with a lover. Singleness. Sadness. The ability to meander through emotion and consciousness. Wondering who gets it. Wondering if I do. Trying my best. Others wanting more. Enough being abundant.
Love with Black folk. Tears with Black folk. Pulling energy from the sky into the tailbone. Meditation on soil. Electromagnetic pulses from the core. Hands held together and thoughts that vanish. Flesh locked in flesh. Peace through aloneness.
Unity with the woods. Oceans as mentors. Reality which is within. Tired because it’s hard to see this way. Elated because I do. Love warriors, peaceful soldiers, silent leaders. The transition from me to you. The community of hearts, open, even with fear.
Prayers for those who harm. Grief for those who hurt. Deep, penetrating surrender. Rigid, painful concrete. Dissolving of the senses. Embodiment of consciousness. Red light into blue. Oranges to pink. Communication with those who want to listen. Hearing those who can’t.
It’s ok to not be ok. It’s alright to be down. Sine, cosine, and wavelengths of empathy. Tender forgiveness. Retreats into poetry. Faith for more, balanced with radical presence. Whispers to God for partnership. Partnership peppered in unexpected vessels. Integration of wisdom through the disestablishment of the status quo.
Things being ok, this being ok, me being ok, no matter what.
